Geely Auto has announced plans to acquire the remaining equity of the core operating entities of Radar Auto (Riddara) for approximately 218 million yuan (around 32 million USD), according to a filing submitted to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The deal includes Radar Auto (Shandong) Co., Radar Auto Sales Co., and Radar Thailand, effectively bringing the electric pickup business fully under Geely Auto as a wholly owned subsidiary.
Radar Auto was established in 2021 as Geely Holding Group’s dedicated new-energy pickup brand. In overseas markets, it operates under the name Riddara, focusing on passenger-oriented electric pickups for outdoor travel, camping, utility use, and light commercial applications.
Following the acquisition, it will be integrated into Geely’s broader pickup operations under the “China Star” framework, consolidating the group’s EV pickup strategy.
Production is based at Geely’s Zibo intelligent manufacturing plant in Shandong, while the brand continues expanding across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.
Geely is also strengthening its plug-in hybrid pickup strategy for global markets, including new Riddara PHEV models for extreme climates, with a claimed range of up to 1,068 km under CLTC conditions. An RD6 EM-P variant has also been introduced for overseas markets using Geely’s Thor hybrid system. The company's lineup in China currently includes the RD6 electric pickup and the Radar King Kong EV series.
In Nepal, the RD6 under the Riddara brand is available in multiple 4WD variants priced at Rs. 79.99 lakh, Rs. 81.99 lakh, and Rs. 82.99 lakh, along with a 2WD variant at Rs. 66.99 lakh. The recently launched RD6 ECON 4x4 is priced at Rs. 71,99,000 in the Nepali market.
